Through our affiliation with Massachusetts Horse, we are proud to announce that one deserving young rider will be chosen as the recipient of the Massachusetts Horse Junior Horsemanship Award at the MassQHA Annual Spring Show. This award is not given to the junior rider who is winning all the classes, but rather to the junior rider who exhibits excellent horsemanship and sportsmanship, caring for their horse and cheering on their friends, while setting a good example for other young riders. This wonderful award includes: a beautiful award ribbon, an adorable stuffed horse, a generous gift bag full of treats and equine products, and a year's subscription to Massachusetts Horse magazine. Good luck at the show, and please be sure to stop by the show office to pick up a copy of the magazine!

2009 MassQHA Annual Awards Banquet

In February, the MassQHA Annual Awards Banquet was held at the Sturbridge Host Hotel in Sturbridge, MA. It was a night to celebrate the accomplishments of its many members. A wonderful buffet was served and members received spectacular awards. A big thank you to Jackie Hughes and Donna Fasolo for all of their hard work in selecting and organizing awards. They did a tremendous job.

Nancy Moos, President of MassQHA welcomed everyone to the banquet. Along with Nancy, Julia Lloyd, Youth President welcomed everyone and acknowledged the outgoing Youth President of MassQHYA, Kaitlyne Wadman. She was also congratulated on her qualification, participation, and accomplishments at the AQHYA World Show in August 2009.

Next, Samantha Palmer filled in for Marge Tanner to present this year’s 2010 Royal Court. All young ladies did a fine job and it was a pleasure to see the representation for MassQHA.

This year’s 2010 Royal Court was crowned. Alyssa Freitas is Junior Princess, Julia Lloyd, Princess, and Brooke Fowler, Queen.

Matt Wadman had the honor of announcing this year’s award winners. Some of our 2009 Annual Awards winners are shown in our Gallery below.
